34rd Annual Scholarship/Mentoring Celebration
Greetings to you!
We are continuing our efforts and support for the young boys we mentor in elementary, junior, and high school within the Jackson Public School District. Our mentoring programs focus on academic, social, and physical support for the mentees not only while they are in school, but after school hours and on weekends. This school year will be an extra challenge for students and parents as we witness several school closings and/or consolidations to accommodate for the needed repairs and to manage declining resources. Even with these challenges, the 100 Black Men of Jackson will expand our efforts to support students and parents.
Upon graduation from high school, each Mentee is eligible for annual scholarship support for four (4) years of college, if they remain in good academic standing. In addition, we provide direct scholarship support to Mississippi Colleges and Universities.
This year our Scholarship/Mentoring Banquet is scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Jackson Convention Complex 105 E. Pascagoula Street, Jackson MS 39201. Perhaps you joined us last year for 33nd year celebration. We thank you for your support and look forward to greeting you on October 12, 2024. Please note, seating begins at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7:00 p.m.
We will again publish our annual souvenir journal and wish to include your congratulatory ad or letter to serve as a memoir of this significant annual event. Your submission must be camera ready and received in our office: banquet@100bmoj.org on or before September 30, 2024, to be included in the souvenir journal. Our sponsorship and ad forms are included/attached for your convenience. We thank you in advance for your support as we continue our efforts to provide guidance and structure for our youth. If you have questions, please contact the office of the 100 Black Men of Jackson.
